Batter Up in NYC

There are loads of things you can do in New York City, but one of the most NYC things you can do when visiting is to go to a Yankee’s baseball game at Yankee Stadium. When you do decide to go, make sure that you get your tickets in advance as they sell out quite quickly, especially if you’re after games against the more popular teams. We went to the NY vs. Boston game, which was definitely popular.

Leave yourself with lots of time. When you look at it on the map, it doesn’t seem that far, but from midtown to the House that Babe built takes well over an hour. You should also take the subway to get there to soak up the atmosphere as it will be full of Yankee fans. It’ll definitely get your blood racing, ready for the game!

Once you get there, grab a huge beer and mustard drowned hot dog, find your seat and take in the view of the stadium and the Bronx. We also managed to spot a number of celebrities watching the game, and when the camera spots them and the themed music starts. While we were there, they played Footloose when Kevin Bacon came on the monitor and I Want to Hold Your Hand when it spotted Paul McCartney.

The atmosphere is electric and the spitefulness between the NY and Boston fans is entertaining. Singing the anthem and of New York New York is awesome. Definitely a day to remember!
