Getting in Chad
Visa
Like all other countries, you need a valid visa to enter Chad. To get a one month valid visa you have to submit US 100 but you need a 3 months or 6 months valid visa then you have to submit US$150. However if you are a citizen of Benin, Burkina-Faso, Cameroon, Congo, Ivory Coast, Republic of Central Africa, Mauritania, Niger, Equatorial Guinea, Senegal and Gabron then you don’t need a visa. This is something very encouraging for the people of above mentioned countries.
Flights to Chad
Chad has an international airport called N’Djamena International airport that is located in N’Djamena, the capital city. It welcomes flights to N’Djamena, that are scheduled by Tournai Air Chad from Bangui, Cotonou, Douala and Brazzaville and from around Chad. Apart from National airline, Air France, Air Ehiopia, Libyan airlines, Afriqiyah Airways are also deal by N’Djamena International airport.
Driving towards Chad
Southwestern part of the country is the safest side to enter Chad by car. Be sure that you have packed all papers and insurance documents. If you don’t want to enter in Chad from Nigeria then Niger and Cameroon are the most suitable countries to get in Chad. Remember; don’t stop until you have a solid reason and don’t drive by night.
By Bus
Motorcycle taxis and Minibuses are run from the capital city, N’Djamena to the border town called Nguele. From there you can get to the Kousseri by motorcycle taxis. From Kousseria regular minibuses run to Maroua.
Though car and bus are good options to get in Chad but plane is considered the best option. N’Djamena is the fastest way to enter in Chad.

The national airline, Tournai Air Chad schedule flights to N’djamena from Abeche. Sarh and Mao are also connected by air.
Driving around Chad
Though roads in Chad are not paved but are still drivable. There are different rental car companies but their rates are high. To go beyond N’Djamena you need to take permission and for that you must have international driving permit.
By Bus
Buses are run between N’Djamena and Sarh during a dry season but in other season you have to rely on pickups, trucks and minibuses.
To get around Chad plane is an expensive option so rental car is the most suitable way get around Chad on cheap prices.
So simply book your cheap flights to N’djamena as soon as possible as the peak season is on its way. For sure, you will get the maximum fun out of your Chad trip if and only if you are guided well.
