Known for its spectacular diving experience, Sipadan is an island located off the north east coast of Borneo. We dove around this island and two other islands (Mabul and Kapalai) for four days. We saw an abundance of sea turtles of all sizes some were even the size of a semi tire. There was a turtle cave too where lost turtles drown but we didn’t dive near it since the pictures only gave me the chills. We also saw some other awesome creatures that you might not want to miss out.
The island and the reef have been declared as a marine park. A few problems over the ownership of the territory are ongoing between Malaysia and Indonesia and so there is military presence on the island to maintain its serenity and prevent illegal fishing around the reef. There a is a limit of 120 divers per day authorized to get Sipadan permits so it’s important to book in advance.

Visting Brazil during Carnival is definitely one of the most exciting times in Rio. Carnival is a yearly event held over 4 days, starting from the Friday before Ash Wednesday to the Tuesday after.
Performers begin rehearsing months before the event officially begins, which shows how serious they are and how important Carnival is. Dance rehearsals and street parades happen much before it begins and if you’re a musician, you can join up with a banda to play in a street procession.
Samba schools are created and people living in the same area get together for Samba nights and rehearsal time, and these schools create up to eight floats during the procession. Their handmade costumes and float designs are based on a specific theme.
This is definitely a fantastic experience that you’ll always remember with anticipation for Carnival felt by everyone throughout the year. If you’re going to be in Brazil to witness one of the most well-known party’s in the World, you should do it in Rio!
