For years I have wanted to go to Darwin, ever since I heard the place discussed on Neighbours! The city is a bit of a Mecca for young people and sounds to me to be the most exciting place in the world! The climate there is like a tropical country – there is a wet season and a hot season! If you travel between May and October you can expect temperatures constantly in the mid thirties and there is plenty of opportunity to cool off in the beautiful waters of the endless coastline. I loved the idea of visiting this vibrant city and I had always planned to do it, but by the time I was away from University and I understood the world a little bit better I realised that It would cost a lot of money for me to get down there.
A few years ago I landed my first real job and I have been able to save up quite a bit of cash, purely for this adventure. Once the cash was there I started to look online for flights and I managed to find some pretty cheap Darwin flights available right in the middle of the dry season! I was able to take a whole month off work which meant that I would really be able to explore the area and see all that it had to offer. I booked the flights and packed my bags. I had wanted to do this for such a long time, and now that I could almost taste the place, I could barely contain my excitement!
