New England is a beautiful part of the USA with both rural and urban areas. The region has a vast history that can be seen and felt within its traditional villages and impressive metropolis areas. The areas beaches are natural and rugged in appearance and the architecture portrays the revolutionary history. New England is comprised of the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Travelling There
Flying is an easy option as Boston’s Logan International Airport receives flights from all over the world. If you are traveling from within the USA then the rail service would be a suitable option. This runs from Boston along the east coast as well as inland. Driving is also an option as the roads in the area are of good quality and networked.
Accommodation
The region is huge and offers all kinds of accommodation for a range of budgets. This includes hotels, villas, cabins or campsite accommodation. However, the region gets busy in holiday seasons so it is important to pre-book well in advance.

Seasoned novices and beginners alike all over the world every weekend enjoy the simplicity of camping. The idea of camping to some of you conjures up images that may make you cringe, especially those of you who have never camped as a child or have heard horror stories from friends and relatives, and have unfairly decided never to give it a fair go.
How much effort you put into adequately planning your camping trip will determine how successful (and enjoyable) your trip will be. Though some of these tasks may seem tedious and tiresome, the more often you put these tasks into practice the more fun you will have doing them.

Does this sound familiar? You’re speaking with someone who has just arrived back from a trip overseas. They share all of these great stories with you of adventures and experiences that they had on their vacation. You then start wishing that those sorts of things could happen to you, but you believe that they probably won’t.
The touristy things that other sites or travel guides tell you to go and do aren’t necessarily the most exciting and everyone else has done them to death anyway. Don’t get me wrong! Those things can be fantastic, especially to give you insight into the culture of the place that you’re visiting, but they’re rarely the experiences that you would get from a more ‘local’ perspective or give you a feel of what it would be like to actually live there. You may think that you can’t get that kind of travel experience unless you are very lucky and happen to be in the right place at the right time.

After planning a weekend away to get some sunshine at the beach along the east coast of Australia, the weather decided to turn miserable. We had to find somewhere else to go and a friend suggested we take a trip to The Entrance. We were only 15 minutes away by car as we were staying at Avoca Beach.
When we arrived we found a nice stretch along the water filled with restaurants and bars, where we had a few drinks and some lunch. It was a lovely way to kill some time as we waited for the daily pelican feed, which occurs at 3.30pm. One thing we didn’t realize was that the Entrance is called the Pelican Capital of Australia.
As the time approached, we found a good spot to watch and suddenly lots of pelicans began to gather to await for the fish frenzy! This has been going on now for over 20 years and the pelicans all know when and where to come for their lunch. The crowd was ecstatic as we all watched the feeders throwing fish at them. As soon as one lot of fish disappeared down their gullets, all eyes would be back onto the feeders.

We’ve all seen rock climbing in the movies and it sure looks dangerous. Remember in Mission Impossible when Tom Cruise is hanging off a mountain facing out to see the sunset, or in Vertical Limit when that decision needs to be made whether or not to cut the rope to sacrifice his life to save his climbing partner.
Indoor rock climbing, on the other hand, isn’t really anything like that, but it’s fun anyway! If you’ve never done any climbing, doing it the indoor way is a great way to begin. As the name suggests, you do it indoors and the rope is tied to the floor. You’re also not really climbing up rocks but these little odd shaped pieces that are screwed to the wall. However, it isn’t as easy as it sounds.
You can find these centres all over the World. If you’re in Sydney, there’s a place in Wetherill Park called Pitch. It’s a large warehouse with all different types of climbing walls. You get a short lesson and then you can just start climbing.
